Vegas Weeps For Black jack 21 King
/ 27 December 2005
The 68-year-old billionaire, Kerry Packer, died at his home in Sydney on Monday night, with his family at his bedside. The news of Packer's death shocked the entire world, but most of all the workers of the Vegas strip. Vegas became the home away from home for Packet and he spent over 30 years of his live playing black jack 21 in the Vegas casinos. The Australian billionaire was one of the first High Rollers on the black jack 21 tables and one of the few who could ask for instant credit of more than $1 million from online casino operators, without blinking. The only game Packer played besides black jack 21 was baccarat. Whenever Packer was expected to visit Vegas, the whole town would get excited months before, knowing that they could expect huge tips from Mr. Packer when he was playing at the black jack 21 tables. Packer had a reputation of playing blackjack 21 in short sessions, with loads of money on the table. According to casino operators, Packer sometimes only played black jack 21 for 40 minutes to an hour, losing or winning millions of dollars. If he won, he gave away big tips to all present casino workers and in Vegas, giving big tips makes someone a popular and respected person. The whole of Vegas reacted with sorrow to the news of the black jack 21 hero. The vice-president of the Bellagio hotel and casino, Alan Feldman, stated that Mr. Packer was a loved high roller and famous all over Las Vegas. Feldman added that he felt much honored to have experienced and enjoyed Packer's company at his black jack 21 tables. According to Dustin Brown, pit manager of the famous Flamingo Casino, Mr. Packer was in the top three gamblers in the world. Brown explains that even though Mr. Packer never played black jack 21 at the Flamingo, because he couldn't bet his kind of limits here, the stories about his tip traveled far, and he was a legend in every casino, whether he visited it or not. One of the famous stories concerning Kerry Packer was that he gave away an immense amount of money, which he just won at the black jack 21 table, to a cocktail waitress who, after Packer asking her why she wasn't home with her husband and kids, replied that she was working to pay off the family mortgage.
